Fisherman of the Month

Phil took Michael and 11-year-old Noah Prudhomme out the next day on the DIANA PESCADORA, the fairly remarkable 22' panga. Captain Valente is an old favorite and has a following of fishermen that have visited here for years. Noah had had enough of the 'Family Fun Day' and was ready to catch some fish. The day started early (Family Fun Days start late) and very soon they were hooking Sierra. With a nice lot of these, they headed out to Carreyeros to try for the Roosterfish. The Roosters were there and with a bit of teasing, they were at the surface and Noah managed to bring in 4 that were between 20 and 35 pounds. The ocean was a bit choppy (the Family Fun day enjoyed flat calm seas) but Noah could care less as long as he had a Roosterfish on his pole.

This tough kid fought his fish magnificently from start to finish and Phil decided that there was no contest and declared Noah Prudhomme Puerto Vallarta's Fisherman of the Month. Dad Michael actually had the opportunity to bring in 2 Roosters himself when there was a double hook up. This February provided some of the best Rooster fishing that Phil has ever seen. Congratulations to Noah for showing us that fishing is a great experience for all ages.

Phil was about to mention that the Humpbacks were leaving our waters early but on this charter with Noah and Michael, they had an enormous Humpback Whale surface directly in front of the boat. By 'directly', Phil doesn't mean 20 feet, he means 'DIRECTLY'. Valente thought that he had nearly hit the whale and it was definitely a thrill for everyone.
